THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL MOVIE >
The Movie

When archaeologists are working in the field they have to gather as much information as possible in order to create a type of documentation that can be of interest, both from a scientific level and for dissemination purposes, for the general public or other researchers, so that they can either study or just use sources as entertainment or during their free time.

For this reason, all archaeologists make use of photographic and video cameras in order to register every single aspect related to the excavation: identification of significant findings, excavation process in the tombs or houses which were buried, etc. His/her main objective is always that of getting a basic witness so that future generations can learn about our Past.

For the Ecomuseum it is very important that students learn how to film and produce videos that can be used to show to different publics the archaeological research as well as the experience that students get while they are trained as archaeologists.

The participants of this course will focus their work on a movie that they will have to film by following the techniques and guidelines set by the teachers
. Later on, and forming part of the second half of the course, by means of utilizing advanced software for film producing, the project will be completed. The result will be the releasing of a movie about the excavations that take place at the port of Sanitja, which can refer to the Roman city, the tombs or the Prehistoric cave.
