THE ECOMUSEUM> What can we discover? > Sta. Teresa
Nobility in Santa Teresa Santa Teresa. Santa Teresa is a rural mansion built on top of a small hill dominating from the south the wide territory of the Cap de Cavalleria. With simple but elegant architecture, it conveys the harmony common to styles from the beginning of the 19th century. Its delicately whitewashed facade presents a rigurous balance of openings, porsche and windows. Its roof shows a peculiar red fish shaped weather vane standing out from the whiteness of the naked walls.
Doubtless, Santa Teresa is the heart of Sanitja, the centre of all farming and agricultural activities, and eventually expanded around its axis with an array of small constructions to meet the needs of the hard work, such as barracks, barns, wells or cropfields.
Also, today Santa Teresa is the reception area for visitors, an information desk on the cutural and natural heritage of Cavalleria, and the starting point for the different itineraries throughout the territory. Likewise, it houses the exhibition room opened to show the results of the archaeological activities carried out since 1994 in the Roman camp built in 123 B.C
